Tour the Host Pools Dashboard

A guided tour of the Atlas AVD Host Pools page: KPI tiles, filters and views, pool cards, Hosts in Maintenance, outdated images, Drain Status, and more.

Before you begin

  • An Atlas AVD admin sign-in
  • At least one synced host pool

1. Open Host Pools

Open Host Pools from the Workspace section of the sidebar. The header shows how many pools you have and when the data was last synced (click the refresh icon to sync now). From here you can create a host pool, or generate a PDF report of every pool.

2. Read the tiles

The tiles across the top sum up your whole estate: Total Pools (and how many regions they span), Healthy, Active Sessions against capacity, Session Hosts and how many are running, In Maintenance, Outdated Image, and Est. Monthly Cost across every pool. Active Sessions, In Maintenance, Outdated Image and Est. Monthly Cost open a more detailed page when you click them.

3. Search and filter

Search by pool name, filter by region or health status, or turn on Show only unhealthy to focus on problems. Your filters are kept in the address bar, so you can bookmark or share a filtered view with your team.

4. The table view

The table lists every pool with its health, name, region, sessions, utilization, hosts, autoscale and cost per month. Click a column header to sort, click a row to open the pool, and use Export CSV to download the list.

5. Cards and Operations views

Switch to cards for a visual summary of each pool, or to Operations, which shows only pools in a Warning or Critical state. When everything is healthy, Operations simply says All pools are healthy.

6. What a pool card shows

Each card shows the pool's health and whether autoscale is on. The ring shows utilization, next to active sessions and a 24-hour trend. Along the bottom are healthy hosts out of the total, capacity, and when someone last signed in, which helps you spot pools nobody uses. If any hosts are in maintenance, the card says so.

7. Quick actions and pinning

The quick actions along the bottom of each card open the pool, its session hosts, its users, or its autoscale settings. The star pins a pool so it stays at the top of the page.

8. Hosts in Maintenance

Click the In Maintenance tile to see every host in drain mode, meaning it isn't accepting new sessions. Select hosts to return them to service in bulk, or use the switch in each row.

9. Hosts on Outdated Images

Back on Host Pools, the Outdated Image tile lists hosts running an older version than the latest in your image gallery. Each pool shows its hosts with their current and latest versions, so you know what to re-image. 0 sessions only finds hosts you can update without disturbing anyone.

10. Drain Status

Drain Status shows hosts that are draining right now, how many sessions are left, and an estimate of when they'll be done. Open it from the Drain Mode Insights widget on your dashboard; Manage Maintenance takes you to the maintenance page.

11. AVD Agent Health

AVD Agent Health lists every session host's AVD agent with its version and health. The tiles count healthy, outdated and unhealthy agents, and Issues only filters straight to problems. Open it from the AVD Agent Health widget on your dashboard.

12. A pool's Action Center

Open a pool and scroll down to its Action Center, which lists what needs attention in that pool right now, each with a button to act on it. For example, a host on an outdated image comes with a Re-Image button, and idle capacity you could scale in comes with Optimize.
