Before you begin
- Access to the Reports page: Administrators, plus the Reports Viewer and Read Only roles
- Scheduling reports is admin-only
- Scheduled reports are sent by email, so email delivery (Microsoft Graph or SMTP) must be set up in Settings → Email Settings
Opening Reports
In the sidebar's Monitoring section, click Reports. The page has two tabs: Overview (the report library) and Schedule (recurring delivery). Tiles at the top show how many reports are available, how many are scheduled, whether email delivery is configured, and when a scheduled report last ran.
Exporting a report on demand
The Available Reports table on the Overview tab lists every report with its description and the formats it supports. Click Export on a row and choose Export .pdf (a print-ready, branded report), Export .xlsx (an Excel workbook with typed columns) or Export .csv (raw rows for scripts and spreadsheets). Click a report's name, or the eye icon, to preview its style before exporting. Search to filter the list, and star a report to pin it to the top.
The library holds 28 reports spanning usage, cost, infrastructure, network, security and identity, operations and inventory, for example the Host Pool Usage Report, AVD Cost Report, Azure Spend Report, Infrastructure Report, Defender Coverage Report and Conditional Access Report.
Reporting against a historical snapshot
Above the report list, the Data Source selector lets you switch from Current State (live) to a captured TimeVault snapshot, so a report reflects your environment as it was at that moment. With a snapshot selected, the page shows the snapshot's date and how many pools and hosts it captured.
The Data Source selector appears on plans that include TimeVault (Atlas AVD). If no snapshots have been captured yet, only Current State (live) is available.
Scheduling a report
Open the Schedule tab (or click Schedule in the page header) and click New Schedule.
- Enter a Name and pick the Report.
- Choose a Frequency: On demand (one-time), Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly.
- Set the time (HH:MM, 24-hour, in the tenant's timezone) and, for weekly, monthly or quarterly schedules, the day.
- Add the recipients: type addresses (one per line, or separated by commas, semicolons or spaces), search your directory, or click Add me.
- Optionally override the From address, leave Enabled on, and click Create Schedule. For a one-time report, click Generate & Send Now instead.
Only reports Atlas can build on the server can be scheduled: the Client Usage Report, Host Pool Cost Report, Infrastructure Report, SKU Demand Report, Network Report, Quarterly Business Review, Cost Per User Report, Orphaned Resources Report, Credential & Secret Expiry Report and the Atlas Reach history reports. Every other report can still be exported on demand.
Managing schedules
The Active Schedules table lists each schedule's cadence, recipients, next run and status. Use Run now on a row to generate and email the report immediately, or edit and delete it. Deleting a schedule that has already run asks you to type its name to confirm.
