Can Atlas AVD support a regulated financial services environment?

Atlas is built for it architecturally: it deploys into your own Azure subscription, keeps client data inside your tenant, encrypts stored credentials with an access record for every retrieval, and maintains a complete change history. Your compliance function still owns the control framework; Atlas is designed to supply the enforcement and the evidence it depends on.

Run separate host pools per business line with their own policy, images, and access groups. The Advanced Policy Engine and environment governance controls enforce that separation consistently rather than leaving it to a runbook.

Will latency-sensitive market data applications work well?

Accepted Answer

Place host pools in the regions closest to your data sources and users, and Smart Connect™ points each user at the most responsive one; latency is measured from their own browser rather than assumed from their location. Session Performance Metrics then give you per-session latency, so a desk-level complaint can be investigated with data.

How is contractor and offshore access controlled?

Contractors get their own host pools and Entra ID groups, so their access is scoped, conditional, and revocable at the end of an engagement. Every credential retrieval and environment change is recorded.

Can we prove what changed in our environment last quarter?

Yes. Atlas keeps a chronological record of environment changes (who changed what and when), and telemetry can be forwarded to Azure Log Analytics for long-term retention against your own retention policy.
