Choose how you want the feed delivered
Everything below is free, needs no Atlas account, and updates on the same 2-hour cycle as the feed page itself:
- Email alerts: pick the Microsoft topics you run and get a branded heads-up email whenever one of them ships a new update.
- RSS: one feed URL you can plug into any RSS reader, including classic Outlook for Windows, with an optional scope filter per topic.
- The web: the atlasavd.com/atlas-feed hub, plus a permanent per-topic page under /feed/<topic> you can bookmark.
- JSON API: the same slices as read-only JSON endpoints, for dashboards, bots, and scripts.
Enroll in email alerts
On the Atlas Feed page, click Subscribe for Free at the top to open the sign-up form, or scroll to the same form at the bottom of the page.
- Go to atlasavd.com/atlas-feed and click Subscribe for Free.
- Under "What do you want alerts on?", tick the topics you care about (Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows App, Windows 11, Windows Server, Exchange, FSLogix, Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Security) or use Select all. The first five topics show straight away; click View more to see the rest.
- Enter your email address and click Subscribe to Atlas Feed alerts.
- Open the confirmation email we send you and click the link inside. The subscription uses double opt-in, so no alerts are sent until you confirm.
Atlas Feed alerts are free and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe. New updates are grouped by topic, so one release wave arrives as one email. If you just want everything, the email box in the banner at the top of the feed page subscribes you to every topic with only your address.
Subscribe to the RSS feed
The Atlas Feed is published as a standard RSS 2.0 feed. It needs no key or sign-up, carries the latest updates interleaved across every curated source (up to 60 items), and refreshes every 2 hours. Paste the URL below into FreshRSS, Feedly, Inoreader, or any other reader's "add feed" box and you're done. The sections below cover narrowing it to one topic and adding it to Outlook.
https://www.atlasavd.com/feed/rss.xmlNarrow the feed with a scope
By default the feed carries every source. Add ?scope=<id> to the feed URL to subscribe to one slice:
- latest: everything (the default when no scope is given)
- windows: the Windows App client plus the Windows 11 and Windows Server update histories
- windows-app: the unified client for AVD, Windows 365, and Dev Box
- windows11: monthly cumulative-update history for every serviced Windows 11 version
- fslogix: FSLogix Profile Container and Office Container release notes
- intune: endpoint management, compliance, and configuration changes
- security: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint EDR and antivirus changes
- azure: the Azure Virtual Desktop service itself
- entra: Microsoft Entra ID identity and Conditional Access changes
- teams: Microsoft Teams admin features
- exchange: Exchange Server cumulative and security updates plus Exchange Online
https://www.atlasavd.com/feed/rss.xml?scope=securityAn unknown scope falls back to the full feed rather than erroring, so a typo never breaks your reader.
Set up the Atlas Feed in Outlook
Classic Outlook for Windows has a built-in RSS reader: subscribed feeds get their own folder under RSS Feeds in the folder pane, and new updates arrive there like email messages.
- Open classic Outlook for Windows.
- In the folder pane, right-click the RSS Feeds folder and choose Add a New RSS Feed… (equivalently: File → Account Settings → Account Settings → RSS Feeds tab → New).
- Paste https://www.atlasavd.com/feed/rss.xml (or the scoped variant you picked above) and click Add.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Advanced… if you want to rename the feed (for example "Atlas Feed") or change its delivery folder, then confirm with Yes.
- New Microsoft updates now arrive in that folder on Outlook's normal Send/Receive cycle.
The new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, and current Outlook for Mac do not include an RSS reader. If that's what you use, enroll in the email alerts above instead. They land in your inbox with no RSS support required.
Permanent topic pages and the JSON API
Every topic also has an evergreen page you can bookmark or share (/feed/windows-app, /feed/windows11, /feed/fslogix, /feed/intune, /feed/security, /feed/azure, /feed/entra, and /feed/teams), each opening the live feed pre-focused on that subject. The same slices are available as read-only JSON at /api/feed/<scope> (for example GET /api/feed/latest or GET /api/feed/security) if you want to pull updates into a dashboard or a script.
