The User Portal gives every AVD user a branded home page, secured by Microsoft Entra ID sign-in, for their virtual desktops. Users see the host pools assigned to them, launch them with one click, save favorites, and read a live connectivity score that steers them to the best-performing region before they connect. On Atlas AVD, guided Smart Recovery™ lets them reset and reconnect a stuck or frozen session themselves: no ticket, no admin. The portal is available on every Atlas AVD plan and billed by use in units: one unit per distinct active portal user per month, always $1 per unit, drawn from your plan's included pooled unit allowance, shared across every metered module (10 units a month on Community and 50 per licensed tenant on Atlas AVD). An active portal user is any distinct end user who signs in at least once in a calendar month, counted once per month: one unit for that month. Community admits 10 active users a month; Atlas AVD are unlimited. A user turned away at Community's cap never signs in, so is never billed.
