Adaptive Density™ automatically adjusts the maximum users per host for each host pool based on actual usage, so hosts fill to the capacity you allow before new ones are needed. This reduces the number of active VMs required while keeping the user experience consistent.
Key capabilities
- Raises and lowers each pool's max users per host from its session demand, checked every five minutes
- Minimum, maximum, target sessions, thresholds and step size per host pool, switched on globally, per tenant or per host pool in the Configuration Matrix
- Caps density automatically when a pool runs on a smaller VM size than it was sized for
- Starts another session host on sustained CPU pressure, in step with autoscale cooldowns
- History for every decision on the Dynamic Density page, with its reason, session demand and host CPU and memory
- Reusable density templates (Light, Medium, Aggressive, or your own) across host pools
